This suit is based on an Autumnal woodland theme. The most famous Harlequin costume is a diamond pattern, but historically Harlequins have worn different sorts of patchwork motley. The Court of Batons all wear motley featuring fruits and leaves. To fill in cards 2-5, I continued the pattern of the existing cards, which is very similar to the Tarot de Marseille.
