About the deck
Anecdotes Tarot is a 78-card deck inspired by the music of Joanna Newsom. I worked on the pictures for this deck from 2018-2020, using colored pencils and alcohol-based markers. The deck was printed in 2020 thanks to a wonderful group of backers in a Kickstarter campaign. From December 2022, it is available through print-on-demand as a poker-size deck!
The 22 cards of the trump suit are each based on a song and its main character, or previously-invisible narrator. Each of the other four suits is linked to one album: Batons to The Milk-Eyed Mender, Coins to Have One On Me, Swords to Divers, and Cups to Ys.
