The Suit of Cups

On this page, you can see the Suit of Cups for Tarocchino Arlecchino and Arlecchino’s Augmented Arcana.

The most famous Harlequin costume is a diamond pattern, but historically Harlequins have worn different sorts of patchwork motley. The costumes in this suit are decorated with moons and stars to give a sort of Harlequin-wizard look. The cups in the Bolognese deck have a very distinct look which I reproduced. To add in cards 2 through 5, I referred to the Tarot de Marseille. However, the Bolognese cards are comparatively free from decorations, except for the flowers on the Ten. To bridge the gap, I tried to make the foliage slowly recede by the 5.
